For various reasons, numbers were light this month (only 10 people total), but that made the odds of winning the door prize that much better (bet you wish you were there now, eh?). There was lots of free cake and I ordered too much pizza, but we still had a very good time and we'll do it again next month.
Tony won the door prize drawing and took home our last Meeple-shaped copy of Carcassonne 10th Anniversary Edition. Not sure what will replace it next month, but there's a good chance it will have either a square or rectangular box.
Join us again next month as we do GAMES! on October 13th, from 3-9pm, including another appearance of Car Wars (the last of the year). We'll make sure there's a chair for you, a chair for your friends and a table between you to play games on; all you need to do is make sure to be there.
We skipped the August event for multiple reasons, but we'll be hosting board games, card games and dexterity games again this Saturday, from 3-9pm. This blog entry is a few days late, but you still have time to get this month's event on your calendar; if you can't make it this weekend (due to the UofI/ISU game or some other conflict), be sure to save October 13th for us.
Grab your favorite game and your favorite friend and join us at GAMES! this Saturday.
It may have been hot outside, but being at GAMES! was cool again this month, as always. There were 30 people that decided to beat the heat by coming to GAMES!, including four for whom this event was their first ever. They played Redemption, Coloretto, 7 Wonders, Bethump'd, Carcassonne, Car Wars, Jambo, Alhambra, and Uno, among others.
Ivy won the door prize drawing and grabbed a banana as her prize (Bananagrams). There's already a new game in the Vault now to replace it, but you'll have to wait until September to find out what it is.
September?!? Yes, due to schedule conflicts and host availability, we are officially cancelling our August event. Our next event will be September 8th, 3-9pm. We're not expecting this to become a pattern, just a one-time hiccup and then we'll be back to our regularly scheduled, monthly events. See ya in two months!
