This Saturday, from 3-9pm, we'll be playing games and having a great time. We'll also be giving away a totally free game to one lucky winner, as always. Admission is free and so is your entry into the door prize drawing, but you must be present to win. I ordered eleven new games for the Prize Vault since last month, including one hard-to-find game that was imported from Europe (and is printed in German! -- there are English rules available online and game play is not impacted by the language), so you won't want to miss out on GAMES! or a chance at a free game.
As a side note, since our baby could arrive anytime (but isn't due until November 25th), there is a small chance that I won't be at the November or, more likely, December event. As long as we're not still at the hospital, I'll do my best to be there, but even if I'm not I'll try to find somebody to setup and unlock the doors. In the very remote scenario where GAMES! needs to be canceled, I'll make a post here as soon as we make that decision, but for now plan on joining us this Saturday, from 3-9pm, and again on December 8th.
See ya there!
We were back in our usual 20+ territory this month with 26 people present, including a number of first-timers and several others we haven't seen for a while. One of the first-timers even brought cupcakes to celebrate her birthday with us. (Happy Birthday, Jasmine!)
Martin was another of today's first-timers and won the door prize drawing. He went home with a brand new copy of Smallworld Underground, which I purchased at Battlezone Games earlier today.
Today was also the last Car Wars event for a while, so there was one game of that played, but aside from one fatality due to a failed maneuver it was a three-way draw. I'll get it out again someday, but for now it takes more effort than there is interest in it.
If you missed today's event, we'll be doing it again in just four weeks, on November 10th (which will be Devlin's birthday, he told me today). Put it on your calendar now and join us for GAMES! @ BRBC.
The October GAMES! event is this Saturday, from 3-9pm. We'll have the usual games, food and friends (current or future), plus there will be Car Wars again as an option. It might even be your last chance to play Car Wars again for a while, because I'm considering reducing the frequency to annually rather than quarterly, due mostly to waning interest. Another thing that is new, but not necessarily significant, is the change from the pop fridge to an actual pop machine (for various reasons that have very little to do with GAMES! itself). Anyway, plan to join us for some fun this weekend and don't forget to invite your friends.
