Notes from March 8

It has taken me awhile to get around to posting these notes, but we had about 30 people at the March 8 event. The pictures are already posted at the bottom of this page.

Kali C won the prize drawing this time, she chose Electronic Catchphrase. We will add another party game to the Prize Vault before the next event.

As a reminder, GAMES! is now a bi-monthly event. You can always see the dates we have scheduled in the Upcoming Events section on the right. You can also sign up for our e-mail list in order to stay informed and to receive a copy of new blog posts. The box to subscribe is in the lower right corner in the Information section.

Next event: Saturday, May 17 from 3-9 PM. Mark it on your calendar now!

Bi-Monthly GAMES!

It's raining as I write this, which gives me hope that spring is on its way. Have you been enjoying this crazy winter? Hopefully we'll have nice weather (i.e., no snow or ice) for our next game day. Our next event is this Saturday, March 8 from 3-9 PM.

The Kitchen menu and hours for March are posted on the right. The individual pizzas last month were delicious and popular, so we are going to try those again.

We have added Pandemic to the Prize Vault, a new game from Z-Man Games. It's a cooperative game for 2-4 players, and it's rated pretty well so far on BoardGameGeek.

We also have some important news for you. I mentioned in my last post that we were considering having GAMES! every other month instead of every month. We have officially decided to switch to every other month, starting with March. So for the rest of this year, we will have events in March, May, July, September, and November.

Another change is that it won't necessarily be on the second Saturday. It will still always be on a Saturday from 3-9 PM, but we will pick whatever date works best for that month. We have already chosen the dates for May and July. You can see them on the right in the Upcoming Events section, and we will always post new dates there as soon as we pick them. Everything else about GAMES! will remain the same, including offering food and giving away a door prize at each event.

In order to keep you informed as to when our events will be, we have created an e-mail list that you can subscribe to. The box to subscribe is in the lower right corner in the Information section. If you sign up for the list, you will receive a copy of new blog posts, which always contain the dates for upcoming events.

This is a lot of information, so please let us know if you have any questions or are confused about anything. Hope to see you on Saturday!

Notes from February 9

We had a smaller crowd this month (about 20 people), but we certainly still had a good time. Look for the pictures to be up soon, hopefully in the next couple of days.

Nancy S won the door prize for the night, she selected San Juan. We hope to add another game to the Prize Vault before the next event.

We are considering having GAMES! every other month instead of every month. What do you think? Good idea? Bad idea? Would you be more likely to come? Less likely? Disappointed? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment. We value your input. I think we'll have an event in March no matter what we decide, and we'll certainly let you know here what we decide.

Next event: Saturday, March 8 from 3-9 PM.
