We had a great time again at GAMES! this month, with 24 people in attendance. There was a lot of teaching going on, since several of the games played were new to most of the people playing them; it was a terrific opportunity to try new games and pick up the rules quickly while learning from an experienced player. Some of the games played were Primordial Soup, Settlers of Catan, Puerto Rico, Apples to Apples, Lost Cities and Life.
Michael won the door prize this month and picked the recently added Warhamster Rally. We went through almost six pizzas and emptied a pan of Rice Krispies Treats and half a pan of Jello Layer Dessert (our two mystery desserts, in case you were wondering).
Our August event will be on the second Saturday again, August 8th from 3-9pm. Make sure to put it on your calendar now so you don't miss it!
It's only been three weeks since our last GAMES! event, but the second Saturday of the month is upon us. It's been a while since we've had an event on the second Saturday, due to building availability, so it feels good to be back on track. Make sure it's on your calendar, this Saturday, July 11th from 3-9pm.
Unlike last month's unexpected barbecue windfall (we had free burgers and hotdogs!), we'll be returning to the usual Papa John's pizza, beverages and desserts. The dessert is currently a mystery at this point, so you may have to show up to see what there is to eat.
To replace the game won last time, we've added Warhamster Rally to the Prize Vault. If you haven't won our door prize in the last six months, maybe this is your chance to get a free game.
We may have a bit sparser crowd this month, due to the timing of the preceding holiday weekend, but that just means there's more room for you! Stop by anytime between 3pm and 9pm to see what the buzz is about.
It was a beautiful day outside and a fun day inside. Along with the teens and parents that showed up for the youth group grill out happening outside, we had a good crowd of gamers inside. We had some very popular dexterity games setup, including a challenging PitchCar track, plus some old favorites like RoboRally and SkipBo, along with some lesser known games like Taktika and Tichu.
Kevin won the door prize this month and selected the original Settlers Of Catan. Due to the abundance of food available for the youth group cook out, we even enjoyed free burgers and hotdogs!
July's event is less than three weeks away already, scheduled for the Saturday after the Fourth of July, Saturday, July 11th from 3-9pm. That means we'll be back to the second Saturday of the month again, as advertised. We look forward to seeing you there!
