November GAMES! Report

This month's event was lots of fun, as usual. We had 30 people attend, including two first-timers. I was kinda busy playing games (which means I also didn't get many photos this month), but I do know that the following games were played: Dominion, Battlestar Galactica, Lost Cities, 7 Wonders, Ticket To Ride, Skip-Bo, Bohnanza, Puerto Rico and more. We had a substitute kitchen staffer, but she did an excellent job and we even polished off all of the pizza.

Olivia won the door prize drawing and took home a copy of Scrabble Express. We've got another word game to replace it next month: Bananagrams!

Our next event is once again scheduled for the normal second Saturday of the month, December 10th from 3-9pm. I'll be there, even if all of my coworkers are off having fun at a Christmas party. If you don't work with me, you should definitely plan to come to GAMES! to help keep me company and maybe even introduce me to a new game (I hadn't ever played Dominion before the November event, so I bet there's something new you could teach me in December). I'm looking forward to seeing you there already, and don't forget to bring a friend too!

November GAMES!

There's probably some sort of football game on TV this Saturday, but unless you're on the field wearing a jersey, you'll get more action at GAMES! this weekend. This Saturday from 3-9pm, we will again be hosting six hours of rough and tumble strategy gaming spanning nearly all genres, giving you a chance to engage your mind and get off your couch (you can DVR the stick-and-ball game, if necessary).

We're adding a donated (but unopened) copy of Alien Frontiers to the Prize Vault this month. Pretty soon our backlog of existing games will be used up and we'll start using BattleZone Games to supply our monthly prize again.

If all of that still isn't reason enough to come to GAMES! this Saturday, I was informed that we'll be having delicious homemade brownies. So, whether you come for the fun, the free prize or the yummy food, it'll be worth your time to join us at GAMES! this weekend. Don't forget to bring your friends, coworkers and neighbors too!

October GAMES! Report

It was a beautiful summer day last Saturday, perfect for working in the yard or doing fall cleaning or just going out for a cruise. For that reason, I'm pleasantly surprised to report that we had 25 people at GAMES! (though we still ended up with three whole pizzas uneaten at the end of the night). We had a blast playing Car Wars, a total of three games (two at div 40 and one with $7,500 spec cars) and five killed drivers. It provided an excellent opportunity for some new people to try it out and the feedback was generally quite positive. There were many other games too, but I haven't looked through the photos yet to see what they were.

Jacob won the door prize drawing, after one winner who declined and another who was not present. He picked the latest addition to the Prize Vault: Castle Merchants. We'll find something new again for next month.

By the time GAMES! happens again, the weather should really finally be changing over to be less summery and more fall/wintery. Regardless of the weather, we'll hold GAMES! on November 12th, from 3-9pm, so mark your calendar now and make sure you get your house/yard/motorcycle/camper all winterized by then so you don't miss it.
