The second Saturday approaches, bringing with it another day of food and fun. In case you didn't get enough gaming in during the holiday weekend, you can finish filling your quota for the month at GAMES! this Saturday, July 10th, from 3-9pm.

Since Andy's selection last month was a bonus entry in the Prize Vault, no additional games will be added to replace it this month, but there are still several excellent titles available, including Small World, donated by BattleZone Games. As always, if there's something specific that you'd like to see added to the Prize Vault, just suggest it on your door prize drawing entry slip.

If you're all partied out from the Fourth of July and can't make it to GAMES! this month, be sure to put next month's event on your calendar (dates are posted on the upper right corner of the GAMES! website). Everybody else, I expect to see you this Saturday, July 10th.

...another very nice day packed with gaming goodness. It was raining outside, but in our air conditioned building it was happy and welcoming. We had 19 people show up, including two who attended for the first time ever. There was too much food, especially desserts, but that's not a bad problem to have. We played such things as Formula D, Battlestar Galactica, Settlers Of Catan, Ticket To Ride Europe, and Stone Age. I'll try to get the photos posted soon.

The winner of our door prize was Andy and he picked up Beowulf: The Movie Board Game, a Reiner Knizia game donated by a GAMES! attendee. We'll give away another game next month, as always.

It's almost time for GAMES! again, back once again to the normal second-Saturday slot (and July's will be too). There will be a substitute kitchen hostess again this month, but at least this time it's due to a planned absence rather than an unexpected illness. Rain or shine, we'll be playing games this Saturday, June 12th, from 3-9pm.

As mentioned last time, the new game in the Prize Vault is Small World, donated by BattleZone Games in Hiawatha. As a side note, I noticed on Facebook this past week that BattleZone has permanently reduced their board game prices by 10%, so keep them in mind if you like what you play at our event and want to pick up a copy of your own.

Whether you like strategy games, party games or dexterity games, you're welcome to join us for GAMES! and bring along your best friend and your favorite game. There's always room for more people and more gaming. Come check it out this Saturday.
