Before I tell you about today's event, let me share something that happened today before the event. Last month I mentioned that Matt from BattleZone Games had stopped by to check things out. Well, what I didn't tell you last month was that BattleZone wanted to get involved in what we're doing, so they had offered to donate a game for the Prize Vault. This morning we picked up a copy of Small World to give away. It'll go into the Prize Vault after the next "gamer" game gets taken.
Alright, now onto today's report. We had a smaller crowd (16 people) today (perhaps due to the nice weather) but still had a great time. We played Zendo, Union Pacific, Robo Rally, Pandemic and Ninja Burger (and possibly others). I also learned, by experience, that both Dave and Tom are really good at ping pong, so I'm looking forward to playing them again at future events; I may even buy some "good" paddles for us to play with.
First-timer Nate won the door prize and selected the popular game Cranium. There's another copy of the latest edition of Cranium to go into the Prize Vault for next time.
Our next event will be on the third Saturday of the month (rather than the second), due to Mother's Day and the fact that there are five Saturdays in May. Get your game face on and join us Saturday, May 15th from 3-9pm for GAMES! (and let me know if you'd like a good game of ping pong, because I'm sure something could be arranged).
footnote: photo credits for the last two shots from this month go to Renee (which means I'm actually in a photo, for a change).
