I don't know if it was the cold, the wind or other exciting plans that kept folks away this month, but we still had a lot of fun at GAMES! with the few that did show up. Even with only seventeen in attendance, we still had two new people who hadn't ever been to one of our events before. The games played were mostly longer ones, including Starfarers of Catan, Star Trek: Fleet Captains, Hero Quest and Merchants & Marauders.

Scott won the prize drawing and went home with a copy of Trivial Pursuit Digital Choice. We'll find something good to add next month to replace it.

We're at it again this month: food, fun and a free game giveaway. It may be cold outside, but it'll be warm inside the gym at GAMES! this Saturday.

As promised, there will be another copy of Carcassonne: 10th Anniv. Edition in the Prize Vault to replace the copy taken last month. It could be yours, or one of the other options, you just have to show up and enter the drawing.

We did pretty well for our first event of the year. We had 37 people attend, including two for whom it was their first time. Car Wars was fun and we even had three guys playing that never had before; we used a blend of 5th Edition and 2nd Edition rules, which helped things to flow a little smoother. There were plenty of other games played too, but you'll have to look at the photos to see what they were.

Nate won the door prize drawing and went home with a copy of the 10th Anniversary Edition of Carcassonne. We have another one too, so we'll go ahead and put it in as an option for next time.

The February event is just around the corner, on Saturday, February 11th, from 3-9pm. In fact, we already posted dates for every event in 2012, so you might as well add them all to your calendar. We look forward to seeing you at next month's event.
